The Stroud High School Business and Information Technology Education courses are offered as part of our Oklahoma Career and Technology Education partnership.
Courses offered are:
Fundamentals of Technology
The focus in Fundamentals of Technology is on Computer Literacy, Computer Science basics and the MS Office Suite of Applications. This course serves to prepare students for the Microsoft Office User Specialist level of professional certifications.
Computer Science Discoveries
CS Discoveries takes a wide lens on computer science by covering topics such as programming, physical computing, HTML/CSS, and data. Students engage with computer science as a medium for creativity, communication, problem solving, and fun. The course inspires students as they build their own websites, apps, games, and physical computing devices.
AP Computer Science Principles
Computer Science Principles introduces students to the foundational concepts of computer science and challenges them to explore how computing and technology can impact the world. More than a traditional introduction to programming, it is a rigorous, engaging, and approachable course that explores many of the foundational ideas of computing so all students understand how these concepts are transforming the world we live in.
BITE Advisory Board
The main purpose for the SHS BITE Advisory Board is to provide input for improvement, guide instructional framework development, and to identify professional development needs.The board consists of members of the Stroud community, parents of Stroud High School students as well as members of Stroud local government who serve in advisory role, helping to develop excellence in Stroud High School Technology Education.
