Stroud Schools will be open Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the regular time for school operations. Our joint investigations with the Stroud Police Department allow us to have strong confidence that we can conduct school business in a usual and customary manner without undue considerations of threats or other safety concerns. We are following legal considerations, policy, acceptable codes of conduct, and exercising disciplinary actions as appropriate regarding students we have identified for having responsibility for actions detrimental to the safe conduct of school business. The unacceptable communications involving the High School students create an ongoing personal concern that will have our continued attention. We do not believe there to be a present operational threat to students or staff at this time. The Parkview Elementary concerns involved possession of a non-operational weapon, which never had any threatening or actionable behavior associated with its presence. Discovery occurred around 4:20 PM at the conclusion of a bus route with notification by parents. Our investigative teams needed adequate time to evaluate all circumstances to develop adequate confidence in our safety and security. We have achieved that goal today.
We understand the levels of anxiety these reports have created for our students, parents, staff, and community at large. Our approach is to eliminate those levels of concern to establish a high level of confidence in our students’ return to school.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

🥎CANCELLED - 4/9 Tomorrow's Middle School Softball game against Dale has been cancelled due to conflicting athletic activities that are scheduled for tomorrow as well.
The Stroud Public Schools acting out of an abundance of caution is closing school tomorrow to complete the investigation of the reported threat at the High School today, and another safety concern identified late this afternoon involving Parkview Elementary School students. School is closed to allow thorough and complete investigations into these two issues. The Stroud Police Department is actively involved with school personnel in each of these areas. We believe it is important to devote our resources to eliminate all existing concerns at this time.
Stroud Schools became aware on Monday afternoon of possible threats made against Stroud students and staff regarding their safety and well-being. That information was immediately acted upon and reported to the School Resource Officer and the Stroud Police Department for immediate action and further investigation. That investigation continues as the student allegedly making the threats is in custody of authorities and is not present in the Stroud Schools. Contacts to students, parents and staff members identified as being a target of the threats are ongoing at this time.
The safety and welfare of our students and staff are top priorities for the operations of our schools. We have taken assertive and proactive steps to assure that the safety and welfare of all are in place. Parents, students and staff members who are not actively identified as being a target of the threat are not being contacted. This communication is to serve as a general District communication that we have an active and ongoing action plan for the safety and well-being of our schools at this time.

🌷Parkview Elementary students had a wonderful time celebrating Easter this week!
Classrooms were busy with Easter parties, and students enjoyed getting outside for egg hunts in the beautiful spring weather.
The 5th grade students also took part in a creative and challenging Egg Drop activity. Using plastic straws and tape, they designed and built protective holders for their eggs. The designs were put to the test as they were dropped from various heights, and the students whose eggs survived without cracking were declared the winners. It was a great combination of creativity, problem-solving, and fun!
