Stroud High School’s Art Department is showcasing some incredible creativity this week!
Mrs. Martin’s Art and AP 3D Art & Design students were given the exciting opportunity to display their Dale Chihuly inspired macchia sculptures around the entrance of the Performing Arts Center for this weekend’s Sponge Bob Musical. Their vibrant, colorful pieces bring an extra touch of artistry and energy to the event!
In the classroom, students have also been exploring the world of cyanotypes (sun prints). They collected natural materials from outdoors and arranged them on fabric treated with a UV reactive dye. When exposed to sunlight, the process created striking negative images! They were beautiful examples of both creativity and scientific curiosity.
Checkout out some of their artwork this weekend!

Thanks to the incredible support from our community, the team has collected 64 turkeys so far! Each turkey was donated directly to the Stroud Food Pantry to help make the holiday season brighter for those in need. The team spent the evening helping at the pantry after practice.

The University of Central Oklahoma Leadership Academy (UCOLA) is a one day program that develops ninth grade students’ leadership skills through their handcrafted curriculum. It is a great way for Freshmen to be exposed to the University of Central Oklahoma and begin thinking about where they want to attend college. In addition to a day full of fun, enriching activities, they also awarded tuition waivers to standout student leaders.
Stroud had 15 Freshmen that were selected to attend UCOLA on November 5th. Adalyn Lum received a $500 Tuition Waiver Scholarship and Gage Bailey received a Tuition Waiver Scholarship $1,000. They were selected based on their participation during the event by UCO student leader!
UCOLA helps students develop lifelong skills as they begin their leadership journey to make a difference in their schools and in the community. It is led by student leaders who are passionate about teaching, leading and serving those around them.

On Tuesday, Mrs. Young’s 5th Grade Science Class explored the idea of chain reactions and it turned into an unforgettable learning experience!
For their hands on “lab,” students worked with dominoes and popsicle sticks to create their own chain reactions. While the popsicle sticks didn’t go exactly as planned, the dominoes were a huge success!
Each student was responsible for the section that crossed their own desk, and they quickly discovered how important every person’s role was in making the full chain work. Once they linked all the pieces together, they set it off! Even when accidental bumps caused collapses, they didn’t get discouraged. Instead, they worked together, rebuilt, and kept going. The students showed patience and perseverance!
🐯Great TEAMWORK Tigers!🐯

Mrs. Livingstone’s 4th and 5th grade students recently had the exciting opportunity to tour Stroud's local restaurant Five Star BBQ's Food Truck, and it sparked some amazing creativity!
Now, in her art class, students are developing their own business plans, dreaming up unique food truck concepts, and designing their very own food truck displays. They are so excited to have the opportunity for this hands on, imaginative project!
